In 2012 the Canadian charts were graced with Canadian International pop stars with global reach. Canadian artists topping the charts included (1) Justin Biebe, (2) Carly Rae Jepsen (of "Call Me Maybe" fame, which she wrote), (3) Michael Bublé, (4) Leonard Cohen, (5) Alanis Morissette, and (6) Celine Dion (her new French language album was a huge success).

This is a list of the Canadian Billboard magazine Canadian Hot 100 number-ones of 2012.

HTML 5 Video won't be replacing Flash on YouTube or Hulu anytime soon...

That’s message from the YouTube developer blog which cites half-a-dozen areas where Flash trumps HTML5 and explains why “the <video> tag does not currently meet all the needs of a site like YouTube.”

YouTube has some bad news for those of you hoping the site would soon ditch Flash in favour of HTML5 video tags: It isn’t going to happen any time soon.

Polar Mobile Group's office feels like a typical Silicon Valley start-up. Employees wear the requisite jeans and t-shirts. A Mr. Potato Head doll rests on the ledge of one open-concept office. Adobe and Greystripe Work Together To Bring Flash Ads To The iPhone and iPad Using HTML 5 Conversion

The ongoing battle between Adobe and Apple over the lack of support for Flash on the iPhone and iPad has been entertaining to say the least. Adobe has been candid about what they think of Apple’s policy, and in turn, Steve Jobs has been open about his thoughts on Flash. But in the end, Flash is still not supported on Apple’s iPhone and iPad. Today, Adobe is partnering with mobile ad network Greystripe to help bring Flash authored ads to the iPhone, iPad, Android and mobile web. Well, sort of.
